The Obby Event replaces ordinary prison navigation with a short obstacle course. The official Obby Champion badge confirms the stable objective: complete the obby during an obby round. It does not promise one permanent course, timer, checkpoint pattern, or reward, so treat the live course as the authority.
Your advantage comes from reading one landing at a time. Fast movement helps only after the camera is aligned and the next surface is clear.
Recognize the start
When the game announces that an Event is being prepared, stop applying the previous location command and look for the Event’s actionable cue. Confirm that the course is active before committing to the first jump. The preparation line tells you what is coming; the live arena tells you where to go.
Use the short transition to center the camera, release any held movement input, and locate the first two stable surfaces. Do not let the crowd decide your launch angle. Another inmate may be reacting to a different line of sight, or may simply be guessing.
If you spawn close to a wall or another player, take the smallest adjustment that gives you a clear camera. Avoid a full sprint until you know where the first landing begins.
Set the camera before jumping
Place the next landing near the center of the screen and keep enough downward angle to see its front edge. A low camera can hide short gaps; a steep camera can hide overhead obstacles or the next turn. Adjust once from a stable surface rather than while airborne.
On keyboard, use short directional taps for narrow alignment. On controller or mobile, return the stick or thumb area to neutral before the jump so drift does not continue after landing. The official experience description says Mobile HUD, PC keybinds, and controller binds can be rebuilt in Settings, so fix an unreliable input instead of fighting it through a run.
Zoom and sensitivity are personal settings. Choose values that let you turn without losing the landing. No universal camera value is confirmed for this Event.
Use a landing-by-landing route
Break the course into a repeating four-step loop:
- Reach a stable surface and stop.
- Find the center of the next valid landing.
- Align the character before pressing jump.
- Land, release movement, and repeat.
This looks slower than continuous sprinting, but it removes the corrections that cause most falls. Once a segment becomes familiar in the current layout, combine only the jumps you can reproduce.
Watch the course, not the player ahead. Their body can hide an edge, and their successful jump does not prove that your angle matches theirs. If the lane is crowded, let the nearest player clear a narrow landing before using it.
Handle common obstacle shapes
These are general movement decisions, not a claim that every course contains each shape. Follow the obstacles actually loaded in your server.
Recover without compounding the fall
If the Event returns you to a platform or start area, stop for one beat and identify why the attempt failed. A bad launch angle needs realignment; a hidden edge needs a camera change; input drift needs a settings fix. Immediately repeating the same jump usually repeats the same failure.
If another player blocks the next landing, wait or choose a clearly valid alternate lane. Do not invent a skip unless you have already confirmed it in the current build. During an Untouchable attempt, an untested shortcut creates unnecessary risk.
The exact respawn, elimination, and time rules can change. Read the current timer and result UI instead of assuming that a fall is recoverable or fatal.
Confirm the finish
Reach the visible end condition and wait for the game to register completion. Do not jump back into the course, leave the finish area early, or treat another player’s badge pop-up as your result. The official badge condition requires you to complete the course during the round.
If you finish but do not receive Obby Champion, check whether you already own it, whether the round fully resolved, and whether the live server recorded the finish. Rejoin only after ruling out a delayed UI update. The badge page, not a community reward list, is the stable place to confirm ownership.
Practice checklist
- Keep the prompt and the next landing visible at the same time.
- Release movement after every uncertain landing.
- Make camera turns from stable surfaces.
- Leave space when another inmate occupies a narrow target.
- Use only shortcuts verified in the current course.
- Wait for the result before assuming completion.
- Review the specific failed jump before the next Obby round.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Obby layout always the same?
No permanent layout is established by the official badge data. Learn movement habits that work when the route changes and trust the live course.
Do I have to be first?
The official Obby Champion description says to complete the obby; it does not state that first place is required. If the current Event UI adds a timer or placement rule, follow that live condition.
Why do I slide off after landing?
You may still be holding movement or using a drifting control. Aim for the platform center, release input as you touch down, and rebuild unreliable binds in Settings.
