Events interrupt the normal command rhythm in Death Order: Simon Says and replace it with a focused obstacle, survival test, timing contest, or fight. The game may announce that an Event is being prepared before presenting the actual objective. Use that warning to stop, read, identify whether everyone or selected players must act, and avoid carrying the previous command into the new rules.
This index covers the four Event pages authorized by current evidence: Obby, Chamber, Split Second, and Duel. The official badges confirm the existence and minimum success target for the first three, while the official universe places and direct gameplay references support Duel. Exact layouts, weapons, timers, and rewards remain update-sensitive.

Obstacle course
Obby
Line up each jump, choose clear landings, recover without panic, and finish the course. The official Obby Champion badge confirms completion during an Obby round.
Official goalSurvival Event
Chamber
Enter with the camera clear, read each live hazard cue, preserve movement space, and survive until the Event resolves. The official Still Standing badge confirms the survival objective.
Mechanics varyTiming duel
Split Second
Stop the table clock closer than the inmate opposite you. The official Perfect Timing badge confirms that only one of the two players walks away.
Official win conditionSelected fight
Duel
Confirm that you were selected and armed, keep controlled movement, use the current arena, and do not confuse the fight with an ordinary location order.
Community corroboratedUse the preparation message correctly
A preparation message is information, not always the action itself. Read it to learn the Event name and likely transition, then wait for the visible instruction that starts the task. Moving early can place you in a poor position or trigger the wrong response when Simon follows with a trap.
Keep three questions in order. What is the Event? Does the instruction apply to every player or only selected inmates? What visible condition ends the Event? In Obby, the end condition is reaching the finish. For Split Second, the official description names a closer clock stop than the opposite inmate. For Chamber, the confirmed result is survival. Duel requires checking selection and the weapon or arena supplied by the current round.
If the live text disagrees with an older video, follow the live text. A video records one build, route, and server outcome. It can teach visual recognition, but it cannot guarantee the next layout.
Event decision index
Positioning before an Event begins
Keep the prompt area visible and avoid standing flush against walls, railings, or crowded doors unless the live instruction requires it. A clear camera helps identify a course entrance, opponent, table, or hazard. Open movement space also gives you more than one route when the Event changes direction.
Do not follow the largest group by default. In an obstacle course, another player can block your landing. In a timing contest, their animation does not reveal your ideal input. In a survival room, a dense group can hide the hazard. In a Duel, spectators and selected players have different responsibilities.
Use quiet moments to confirm jump sensitivity, camera speed, and interaction reach. The official description says Mobile HUD, PC keybinds, and controller binds can be rebuilt in Settings. A control layout should let you move and keep the Event cue in view at the same time.
Recovery after a mistake
When an Event allows recovery, stabilize before trying to regain time. In Obby, return to a secure surface and realign. In Chamber, move away from the demonstrated danger rather than committing to a memorized corner. In Split Second, one stop decision is the entire task, so recovery belongs in the next attempt rather than frantic extra inputs. In Duel, break the opponent’s clean angle and re-establish control before chasing.
If the Event removes a life or ends the run, use the spectator or lobby time to identify the actual cause. Was the Event name misunderstood, was the route blocked, did the control fail, or did a version-specific mechanic differ? A precise cause produces a useful change; “the Event is random” often hides a readable cue.
Evidence and changing details
The official badge record is the strongest stable source for Event existence and minimum goals. Obby Champion says to complete the obby during an obby round. Perfect Timing says you stopped the clock closer than the inmate across from you at a Split Second table. Still Standing says you survived the Chamber. These descriptions do not publish course layouts, clock targets, hazard sequences, or reward values.
Public guides also document prepared Events such as Obby and Duel, but current coverage is uneven. Advice that depends on an exact color, door, corner, weapon, or timer must be checked in the live round. The pages use Official, Community corroborated, or Needs in-game testing labels so you can see what kind of claim you are reading.
Common Event mistakes
- Acting on the preparation message before the actionable cue appears.
- Forgetting to check whether the task selects two players or applies to everyone.
- Copying a crowd or opponent instead of reading the objective.
- Treating one video route as a permanent layout.
- Leaving the prompt off-screen while navigating.
- Chasing a badge after the Event has already changed.
- Assuming a failure penalty, reward, or timer that the live interface did not show.
Frequently asked questions
Are Events separate from Simon Says commands?
They temporarily change the task, but you should still read the complete live instruction. A preparation notice sets the scene; the Event cue tells you what to do.
Which Events have official badge support?
Obby, Split Second, and Chamber have directly matching enabled badges as of October 7, 2026. Other badges support combat, survival, days, predictions, NPC interactions, secrets, and trading.
Is there a guaranteed safe spot?
No permanent safe spot is established by the official data. Layouts and hazards can change, so use the current cue and visible arena.
Where should I start?
Read the Obby guide if platforming is the problem, Chamber for survival preparation, Split Second for the timing table, or Duel for selected combat.
